Exchange Student Program for University of Tsukuba Students to IIT

Selected students from the University of Tsukuba will participate in a 5–8 week program at IIT Bombay, IIT Madras, IIT Guwahati, or other partner IIT campuses. The program focuses on entrepreneurship-oriented training, field-based learning, and the further development of project ideas related to unmet medical needs.

Participants will attend specialized lectures on innovation, entrepreneurship, and healthcare technology; receive mentoring from local faculty and industry experts; and refine project ideas developed through the PBL course. The program also includes opportunities for collaboration with IIT students, participation in on-site workshops, and exposure to India’s healthcare needs, innovation environment, and startup ecosystem.

Through this program, students will deepen their understanding of how healthcare challenges are addressed in India and how technology, entrepreneurship, and cross-cultural collaboration can contribute to practical solutions.

Expected Learning Outcomes

By the end of the program, students will be able to:

  • Deepen their understanding of India’s healthcare systems, unmet needs, and startup culture.
  • Strengthen interdisciplinary teamwork and cross-cultural communication skills.
  • Refine and present project proposals with guidance from academic and industry mentors.
  • Build global perspectives and leadership capacity for advancing healthcare solutions.

Duration: 5–8 weeks
Target Group: Undergraduate and graduate students
Number of Participants: 5–6 students per year
Period: February–March 2026; August–March from 2026 onward
Location: Indian Institute of Technology campuses, including IIT Bombay, IIT Madras, IIT Guwahati, and other partner campuses
Credits: Equivalent to 2–3 academic credits
